Franck Haise Explores Tactical Setup Amid Heavy Summer Workload

Manager Franck Haise utilized a heavily rotated tactical setup, blending several academy graduates with established first-team players. The fixture also marked the highly anticipated first start for creative midfielder Adrien Thomasson following his recent transfer from Lens.

The Breton side initially looked sharp and broke the deadlock in the 40th minute when Esteban Lepaul converted a precise cross. However, widespread second-half substitutions disrupted their rhythm, allowing Caen winger Samuel Noireau-Dauriat to score a quick-fire double in the 72nd and 81st minutes.

Despite the disappointing result, Haise focused on the physical conditioning of his squad after grueling sessions in intense summer heat. "I am never satisfied with losing, especially since we missed three major chances to equalize late on," Haise told the club's media channel.

The squad is scheduled to depart immediately for a rigorous two-day cohesion camp within the local Rennes region to build match fitness. Les Rouge et Noir will look to fine-tune their tactical cohesion ahead of their next pre-season test against Guingamp.
