Les Aiglons Direct Season-Long Tributes to Honor 86 Victims

The profound bond between the city of Nice and its premier football club remains unbreakable a decade after the tragedy. OGC Nice has actively driven remembrance efforts since 2016, originally designing the heart-shaped mosaic of the 86 victims' names that now serves as the official commemorative symbol across the entire municipality.

The club historically established this deep connection during their emotional August 2016 match against Rennes, where players wore sponsorless white shirts and raised 121,500 euros for affected families. Throughout the modern era, the stadium giant screens display the memorial heart at every 86th minute of play while fans illuminate the Allianz Riviera stands.

Club president Maurice Cohen confirmed an extensive participation strategy for this milestone anniversary, which will see French leaders Emmanuel Macron and Francois Hollande visit the city. "The club has always stood firmly alongside the victims of this tragic event, and OGC Nice will participate in a massive way," Cohen stated.

The upcoming Ligue 1 campaign will feature the commemorative heart symbol on every single captain arm band across all age groups. Additionally, club figures including manager Olivier Pantaloni and former president Jean-Pierre Rivere will lead a memory march, preceding a formal squad wreath-laying ceremony at the Villa Massena memorial.
